Stuff I'm knitting for others and misc.

I have to say it was so much fun to do this, and I recommend you do it to! All you do (in a nutshell) is make a toy, drop a toy, and make someone's day! :] I dropped all three of my toys in a bathroom (in different stalls, of course). I know that's kind of gross, but the church was packed, and the only place that wasn't that crowded was the bathroom. And I couldn't just leave them by the sink because there was always someone there and I had to take a picture without raising suspicion... and what's more private than a bathroom stall? Well, a lot of things are more private than a bathroom stall, but you get the idea.

Here's a mix of stuff:
WIP and Recycled Yarn
The brown blob in the corner is the beginning of a toy for my cousin Kevin.
The small hat is for the Bridge Project and Beyond.
The pair of (almost finished) mittens is for the Bridge Project and Beyond.
The ball of yarn near the bottom of the picture is for me!!! It's some yarn I recycled from a sweater. No, that's not all of it, that's just what I got from one of the sleeves. It's 100% Angora laceweight. It doesn't look like a lot of yarn, but believe me, there is a lot of yardage in that little ball of yarn. Trust me, I was the one unraveling the sleeve and winding it into a ball. I know.

P.S. I'm reading the yarn harlot's book, Knitting Rules! It's hilarious.
P.S.S. I know I already mentioned this in a previous post, but stay tuned for a project I'm planning that will involve you!

I love rain...

I especially love hot chocolate on a rainy day...
Hot Chocolate on a Rainy Day

Here's some stuff I bought recently:
Stuff I bought
  • Knifty Knitter Set- I've barely had it for a week and I already lost one of the pieces! I haven't had an opportunity to use it yet...
  • Mystery Yarn- from my Aunt Mary, it's a blue cotton candy color with pink and green highlights.
  • Susan Bates Sock Knitting Set- 4 sets of dpn's! Tiny sizes...
  • Bernat Sox Sock Yarn- I want to make another pair of socks!
  • Susan Bates Knit Chek (I didn't spell it wrong, thats what it says on the package!)- My first gauge check card thingy! I should have gotten one of these alot sooner.
  • 3 Blank Totes and Print n' Press Paper- I'm going to use the iron-on paper to put yarn related sayings on the totes. What do you think of this one under a ball of green yarn? "Have you had your vegetables."

And an important announcement! I have a brand new cousin! Little Anthony Maximus R. he was born yesterday, February 16, 2009 at 9:51 p.m. He weighs 7.1 pounds and is 19 inches long. His big sister was born on February 14, 2006! They'll be very close siblings. :]

I just found an AWESOME video! Watch the entire thing! Knitters are so creative. :]

Some spinning...

I spun a sample I received in my Phat Fiber box. It is from Moonlight and Laughter. The colors are so deep! It's beautiful spun up. I'm going to ply it with some 30% wool, 70% mohair from natchwoolie. It'll make a cute, little sample.

I tried to make it thinner than last time... :] But I'm still not even close to becoming a professional.

A lot of roses...

I've been making a LOT of roses for Valentine's day. In the picture below you can see in the top left corner the ones that have stems (I need to add green yarn to the two roses who have white stems), in the top right the ones that aren't even sewn up, and right in the middle, all the ones sewn but without stems.

I also made a cowl with some pooch yarn I bought awhile ago. I like it a lot, it's really warm and looks so cute paired with a plain white t-shirt.
