Hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas
I want to show you guys a scarf I made for my Aunt Gina (my mom's fraternal twin.)(BTW, I have a twin brother... Interesting, huh?) Here's the scarf:
My mom modeling the scarf
I knit the scarf up in 4 hours or so, it was a really quick knit. I used size 15 knitting needles and Wool-Ease Thick n' Quick yarn. It was a dream to knit. I also made a pair of fingerless, blue gloves using this pattern for my cousin Melanie. (Sorry, no picture!) I plan on making another pair for me in pink. I also made 2 Black Apple dolls for my second cousin Faith and cousin April. I used the pattern available on Martha Stewart.com- (Have I ever mentioned I am officially in love with Emily's artwork? ) (Oh, in case you did not know, Emily is the creator of the Black Apple artwork and dolls... but most of you know that.)
Black Apple Dolls
I made a scarf for the blue one and a felt collar for the pink one. What do you think?
I don't want to seem greedy and make a list of all the things I got, but I just have to show you this:

It's the sketch on a lunch bag made by Candy Glending! Her work is superb... I just have to have one of her messenger bags! Take a look at this one: Click Here! Check out her etsy: Candied Fabrics

Using my Christmas money, I bought a bunch of goodies today:
Stuff I bought with Christmas money
...Including my first pair of bamboo needles! I have to say I LOVE them! I'm using them to make the pink gloves I mentioned earlier. Oh, and I got half-bead eyes! I'm excited to try them out, as I've been using acrylic paint on my amigurumis- until now! :] Have a great New Year!

"Tamales coming out of our ears..."

As said by my mother. The goal was to make over 250 tamales. We made 352! Well, needless to say we surpassed our goal. YAY for us! The only thing is I've been eating tamales since Sunday, and today my mom just found 2 more bags of the stuff! My mom is getting so desperate, she almost offered some tamales to the Charter Communications guy when he came to fix our internet. (That's a whole other story... I was having internet withdrawals!) Well now to the "meat" of the post. The pictures...
(WARNING: You might find yourself drooling!)

And finally you get to meet them! My beautiful parents... What do you think of them? :]

I've been crocheting like crazy! Somebody ordered 4 more angels, and another person wants a snowman and an angel. EEK! I have a deadline to meet so I've got to go... But I'd also like to include that our internet went out for 2 days and all I really want to do is read blogs!!! I feel so separated... But I have to crochet, I can't sit in front of the screen and exclaim over everyone's wonderful creations. So I'll just leave you with a picture I took before it started raining like crazy.(I actually LOVE rain, so that's good.)

Angels by the dozen

I've been making a TON of angels. Proof below:
"Hark!" said a bunch of angels...
I showed a couple of people at my weekly bible study my first angel and a bunch of people wanted them, so last night I was up adding hair to angels until 2 a.m.
Ahem, I will say that again-
2 a.m.
I had to make 11 angels, 2 snowmen, and 1 lamb. In a week. That's a lot of crocheting! Here's what the sheep looks like. My own pattern, created at midnight. *Pats self on back*
Sheep Amigurumi
I made around $80. Not bad, huh? I charged 5 dollars for each item. Was that a good price?
P.S. Sorry about the bad photos, it was 2 a.m. after all.

Also, I joined a blog called "The Bridge Project." Sandy is 'rallying the troops' to make hats, mittens, and scarves for some homeless men living under a bridge in cold, cold, cold Ohio.
If you can even just make one item, I'm sure Sandy would appreciate it. I am making a couple of scarves.

Oh! And let me refer you to a really cool blog I discovered: The Toy Society!
Basically, you "drop" handmade toys somewhere, someone finds it, and contacts Bianca, who then posts on the blog that that item is "found." It's a really cool way of spreading some joy with whoever finds it. They walk with a spring in their step for the rest of the day. How rad is that?

Oh and speaking of spreading some joy, Kathleen is having another giveaway! This one is too cute to describe, you'll just have to pop on over to check it out yourself.

Apple Pie and Christmas Decorations

I though my Apple Pie "adventure" went pretty well, It was almost gone by the end of Thanksgiving! It did take me along time, though. But that was because I did everything from scratch. Take a look:

Apple Pie- the applesApple Pie- before bakingApple Pie- Blue LeafApple PieApple Pie- almost gone!

I dyed the small bit of dough that was left over, and used a cookie cutter to make a leaf shape. I thought it looked pretty, what do you think? and it tasted fabulous.

Over the weekend, we got the Christmas decorations up. This is only a small percentage of all the cute Christmas stuff we have!

Free Christmas Tree Amigurumi Pattern

Christmas Tree Amigurumi

This is really fast amigurumi! It took me about 45 minutes.

To make the little Christmas tree, you will need:
Little amounts of worsted weight yarn in brown and green
Size F/5 (3.75 mm) crochet hook
Little pieces of red felt for bulbs
Fiberfill or stuffing of your choice

It is about 3 inches tall.

Abbreviations I use:
ch = chain
dec = decrease
R = round
sc = single crochet
sts = stitches

INSTRUCTIONS

Christmas Tree
Using the “F” hook and green yarn
R1– Ch 2, 5 sc in szzecond chain from hook
R2- 2 sc in each sc around (10 sts)
R3- sc around (10 sts)
R4- sc 1, 2 sc in next sc around (15 sts)
R5- sc around (15 sts)
R6- sc 2, 2 sc in next sc around (20 sts)

R10 and 11- sc around
R12- sc 4, 2 sc in next sc around (30 sts)
R13 and 14- Sc around
decrease until a small hole is left (stuff now and finish green yarn by cutting and pulling through the loop)
slip knot with brown yarn, and sc into any sc in the hole.
sc around, then decrease until the hole is closed.

Now cut small circles out of the red felt and attach however you want. I used a hot glue gun.

Tell me if you find any faults, it it my first pattern, after all. Oh, and tell me if you don't understand it. That last part looks a little confusing. :]
